Life flows like a river of energy. Strangely enough, photographers can capture traces of that swirling, sparkling chaos in still images - like an eclipsed sun that still shoots out flaming corona outside the black disc of an eclipsing moon. Daniel J. Smitherman's work behind the camera eclipses the blinding - but ordinary - aspects of our visual world, to reveal the flashes of beauty and alien-ness that lie just behind the veil.
